The first Morris Cowley was produced in 1915, the early cars were fitted with rear wheel brakes only and it was not until 1925 that brakes to all wheels were fitted as standard. For safety reasons doors were only fitted to the passenger side of the car.
In 1920 a 2 seater Morris Cowley cost £360.00 but by improving production methods by 1926 a similar model with 4 wheel brakes cost only£170.00 a reduction of 53% At this time 41% of all cars sold in the UK were Morris. At this time petrol was purchased by the can and cost 1/7d. (8p) per gallon ~(less than 2p per litre). As the petrol tank only holds 5 gallons the cars were supplied with a spare 2 gallon can of Shell petrol fitted to the running board.

The 1933 Austin 6 cylinder saloon is one of only 4 traceable cars left in the world, one being on the Balmoral estate until recently. Production of these cars was only for an 8 month period as production costs were prohibitive, so most of these prestigious cars were exported; these were then followed by a smaller version, the Austin 7
